The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has announced the schedule for its national elections at the 71st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 29, 2024, at ITC Maratha, Mumbai. During the AGM, the association will elect its Managing Committee and Office Bearers for the term 2024-26.In an exclusive media briefing at Le Meridien, TAAI President Mrs. Jyoti Mayal announced her candidacy for re-election. She reflected on her leadership journey from 2019 to 2024, where she steered the association through the pandemic and emphasized industry resilience. Mrs. Mayal highlighted the team’s united efforts and credited them for their work despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, thanking members for their unwavering support.
TAAI, in an official circular, announced that nominations for various positions can be filed by September 15, with the deadline for withdrawal on September 23. The list of nominations will be shared with members by September 16 via email. During the AGM, the Managing Committee’s report for 2021-22 and the Annual Audited Accounts for the year ending March 31, 2022, will also be adopted, alongside the appointment of auditors for the financial year 2022-23.Recently, TAAI successfully organized its 66th Convention on a cruise in Singapore, attended by over 300 delegates, with all arrangements completed in just 12 days.With the elections approaching, Mrs. Mayal remains committed to her vision of driving progress, modernization, and advocacy for India’s travel sector.
